The Atlanta Golf Club, Inc.
Presents
The American Amateur Golf Tour

Welcome!

Home

The American Amateur Golf Tour has just completed the 2001 season with a very tightly contested Tournament of Champions in Orlando Florida. Already we are planning for bigger and better tournaments in the 2002 season, including a team event in Ireland and a National Tour Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona that will host golfers from 21 different cities across the United States.

Once again we are expanding the tour. We will expand the tour into at least seven new cities in 2002. We are adding Fort Lauderdale, Florida,  Fort Myers, Florida, Cleveland, Ohio, Orange County California,  Minneapolis, Minnesota, Atlanta, Georgia and Phoenix, Arizona. We are also negotiating a possible merger with another amateur tour, and we expect to restart the San Diego tour next season as well. Our goal is to continue to improve and expand the tour into at least three new cities every year.

Our Commitment:
A
s always it is very important for us to point out that over and above everything else, our tour players come first. Our aim is to provide each player with top quality professionally organized tournaments throughout the year and during the post season.  Not only will we build and improve the tour each year, but our goal is to make your tournament experience as close to that of a PGA event as possible. We will continue our efforts to eliminate sandbagging and make sure that each golfer is playing against golfers within their own skill level.  We believe that a player should not have to think or worry about anything else on tournament day except his or her game. We expect the American Amateur Golf Tour to be considered the top Amateur circuit in the country.

Most of our tournament directors work directly for the American Amateur Golf Tour and are paid by the American Amateur Golf Tour to insure that every tournament runs as smoothly as it possibly can. Even the tour directors that have their own franchise of the American Amateur Golf Tour follow the same guidelines set by the AAGT. There will be a limit to the number of players in each event and the pace of play will be paramount. Whether you are preparing for P.G.A. or L.P.G.A. Q Schools, the Senior Tour, the Buy.com Tour, your State Amateur, or maybe you just want to experience the thrill of  tournament golf. Well then this is your tour. The American Amateur Golf Tour is run for golfers, by golfers. We want to meet your needs.

The 2002 season will consist of at least twelve, one day, 18 hole tournaments in each city.  The scores, stats and standings from each city will be posted every week on the website throughout the season so that players nation wide will be able to track players from other cities as the season unfolds. Based on your order of merit points at the end of the season you can qualify for post season events such as the Sir Elford Cup, the National Tour Championship and the International Amateur Team Cup.

Your tour card / membership will cost you between $75 and $150 depending on the city you will be competing in (check with your local director). On the back of your tour card you will find a list of a few of the sponsors such as golf shops and restaurants that will provide you with discounts of up to 25% when you show your card.

So get inside the ropes and play the American Amateur Golf Tour in 2002.

Experience tournament golf and take your game to the next level
